Bromley restaurant named best in Britain
Bromley restaurant “Tamasha” has won the prestigious Vettee Tiffin Cup after reaching the finals in the House of Commons. The decision was made by a judging panel chaired by TV chef Ainsley Harriot.
The Tiffin Cup winner is chosen from a list of restaurants that have been nominated by local MPs. This year 58 restaurants were nominated.
Tamasha, on Widmore Road, was nominated by Bromley & Chislehurst MP Bob Neill and made it to a shortlist of eleven. The shortlisted restaurants are then invited to a cook off in the House of Commons where the popular restaurant was selected to win this year’s competition.
Chef, Ajit Beheria and Tamasha General Manager Jitindar Singh were presented with the Tiffin Cup by the new House of Commons Speaker, John Bercow M.P.
The Tiffin Cup competition raised money for the Roko Cancer Appeal, which helps to fight cancer in the UK and India.
After the competition Bob said:
“I am absolutely delighted that Tamasha won. It really is a first rate restaurant and the team had to beat off stiff competition from ten other restaurants from across the country to win this prestigious national award.”
